Maryam Firuzi, born in 1986 in Shiraz and now based in Tehran, holds a BA in Scriptwriting and an MA in Film Studies from the Art University of Tehran. She also completed a short course in studio photography at Speos School in Paris.
Firuzi is a two-time recipient of the Peace Medal at the Global Peace Photo Award (2018 & 2022). Her work has been showcased at numerous prestigious festivals and art fairs, including Paris Photo, the 13th La Gacilly Photo Festival in France and Austria, the 9th Daegu Photo Biennial in South Korea, and the “Open Your Eyes” Photo Festival in Zurich (2023). She has exhibited both solo and in groups in cities such as Tehran, Strasbourg, Paris, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Sharjah, Dubai, Marseille, Geneva, Pune, Delhi, Bratislava, and Vienna.
In 2022, she was honored as a laureate of the 6th IWPA Award, and her latest photo series is set to be exhibited at the Albert Kahn Museum in Paris. Recently, she received the title of People Photographer of the Year from the IPA.
Since 2021, she has been photographing with a Fujifilm 50 GFXR camera.
