“It just so happened that I captured the essence of daily life, joy and struggles of a human being” – Vartan Kelechian

Born in Beirut, Kelechian comes from a culturally diverse family where his father is from Armenian and his mother is from Lebanon. Kelechian’s passion for photography has been influenced by many people, of which the key individuals were his parents and his former partner.

According to Kelechian, his mother would indulge his father’s flair for amateur photography, and unwittingly sparking his own curiosity and desire to observe his surroundings. His decade-long companionship with his former partner also showed him the kind of clarity and drive to keep a passion from fizzling out.

In the words of his previous partner, “each one of us is instilled with an ability to discover. It is our duty to make the best of that gift.”
