Harem Sewaisi

About Me

Harem Sewaisi, a Kurdish photographer born and raised in Ranya and now based in Erbil, Iraq,
has built an impressive career that merges his passion for photography with his international
experiences. In 2015, he moved to China to pursue a Master’s degree in Environmental
Engineering at Beihang University.

After completing his studies, Harem returned to Kurdistan and has since worked with numerous
well-known organizations, both locally and internationally. These include National Geographic
Learning, Toyota, Nutella, Samsung, Oppo, Realme, Rotana, Careem.

Harem’s photographic journey began in 2011, and since then, he has traveled extensively,
capturing the landscapes, people, and cultural practices of Kurdistan. His work uniquely reflects
the beauty of the region, from its natural scenery to its vibrant daily life. Currently, Harem is
collaborating with Nishtiman Strategy Institute (NSI) on his latest project, Under 21 Rays of Sun,
where he serves as both a photographer and storyteller.
