About the Fujifilm Short Film Festival

The Fujifilm Short Film Festival returns in 2026, building on the success of its inaugural edition and continuing its mission to champion emerging filmmaking talent across the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.

Created by Fujifilm Middle East in collaboration with Cinema Akil and Gulf Photo Plus, the festival provides a regional platform for bold ideas, fresh perspectives and original storytelling. Its inaugural edition received over 2,000 submissions, with 20 outstanding short films selected across four categories: Narrative, Documentary, Student and Experimental.
