About the Fujifilm Short Film Festival

The Fujifilm Short Film Festival is the first festival of its kind by Fujifilm Middle East, created in collaboration with Cinema Akil and Gulf Photo Plus to spotlight emerging filmmaking voices across the region. With plans to grow annually, this inaugural edition received over 2,000 submissions, from which 20 standout short films were shortlisted across four categories: Documentary, Experimental, Narrative and Student.

Hosted at Cinema Akil in Alserkal Avenue, the festival invites audiences to discover fresh talent through curated short-film blocks, with free public screenings and open bookings for all sessions. Audiences will also take part in selecting the winner of the Audience Award, voting for the film they believe deserves top recognition.

Marking the beginning of an evolving regional platform, the festival aims to foster bold ideas, nurture new perspectives, and champion the next generation of storytellers.
