Aref Al Ammari

Aref Al Ammari has been an active member of the Qatar Photographic Society since 2003. His journey in photography began in 2002, when a striking landscape scene inspired him to buy his first camera and begin capturing images.

After a year of self-practice, he joined the Qatar Photographic Society, where he connected with leading Qatari photographers including Jassim Al Mohannadi, Hussein Al Jabir and Abdulrahman Obeidan. Their mentorship enriched his knowledge and sparked a drive to create meaningful visual stories.

Aref’s real transformation came through participating in local and international photography competitions, where he won numerous awards – most notably the “Super Circuit” in Austria. He has exhibited his work in various shows organized by the Qatar Photographic Society at both local and global levels.

Since 2006, Aref has also contributed to the field as an educator, conducting photography workshops and training over 1500 students in Qatar, the UAE and UK.
